ABOUT
Vijana Africa was founded in 2013 in the Democratic Republic of Congo by Rodrigue Makelele, following his field trip in one of the remote villages in the eastern DRC. He witnessed how young boys and girls were living under fear and insecurity, lack basic needs, healthcare, education, or opportunities. We decided to respond to the systemic social and economic injustice in the DRC.

Vijana Africa’s mission is to promote peace and conflict Transformation through youth’s entrepreneurship, education, and civic engagement, by enhancing their skills, knowledge, and experiences while investing in their innovative ideas, and initiatives.
OUR VISION
Vijana Africa thrives to position youth at the heart of the ecosystem of peace where their innovative entrepreneurship is a cornerstone to the development of their community in addition to creating jobs and economic opportunities.
At Vijana Africa, we are dedicated to addressing the issue of conflict minerals by promoting responsible sourcing and raising awareness about their impact on communities.
