Peacebuilding & Community Protection

Safety starts with awareness.

This program brings school-based sessions on safety, consent, dignity, respect, equality, and reporting awareness to secondary schools in the Goma area, with signposting to appropriate protection support.

Awareness session attendances, per school-level field reports

Counted as session attendances, not unique individuals, and not a measure of reduced violence.

What the sessions cover

We run sessions across seven secondary schools in the Goma area, covering safety, consent, dignity, respect, equality, and how and where to report concerns. These sessions build awareness and open conversation — they are not a substitute for case management or a claim of resolved outcomes.

Out of respect for the people involved, we don’t describe confidential disclosures, identify survivors or minors, or publish unsourced crisis referral numbers.

Awareness, not case management

Our sessions build awareness and point students toward support; they complement rather than replace specialized protection services.

Dignity first

We don’t publish identifying details about survivors or minors on this site.
